Important Tendenci Email Delivery Update

Tendenci has made an important update affecting the way that email is sent from your Web site! The battle against Spam is an ongoing issue in the online world. It is our job to keep your Web sites emails compliant to the latest regulations to ensure that your emails are delivered to your members! On that note, Tendenci has updated its email delivery process when sending on behalf of clients via your Web site (including newsletters, contact forms and any online notification sent from your site). When an email from your Tendenci site is sent it will now have a Sender Address of DO-NOT-REPLY-TENDENCI@schipul.net. This change was made to match the address of your Web sites mail server to the Sender Email address in order to be compliant with new email regulations. A Sender Email address that does not match the actual mail server address looks suspicious to mail servers, resulting in blocked emails or failed deliveries. If you have created a custom membership application on your site you will notice that the membership types available to users does appear on the application.

Ex. Membership type showing on Membership Application:

* Note that the * is a required fields - as all members most choose a member type - even if there is only one type

You can edit what appears in the Membership Type section by editing the membership types on your site:

From the Tendenci Console select Memberships
Below Membership Options select Membership Types
Choose Search Membership Types
Here you will find all the membership types that have been created. A membership type will not appear for users if:
1. The membership type is not set to active.
2. The membership type is restricted to Administrators.
3. The membership type only appears for renewals.
Also you are able to add additional membership types.

How can I get reports from my custom CMS Form?

To export data from a CMS form, please do the following:

1. Go to the Tendenci console logged in as an admin http://www.yourwebsite/en and look at the right column (admin quick links) and click CMS Forms.

2. From the Search CMS Forms page click the second bullet option Search CMS Forms

3. From the search screen click reports from under the tabs menu

4. From the CMS Forms Reporting Options click CMS Form Responses

5. From the Export page select the form you need reports for from the drop down menu.

6. Choose the fields you would like to export and date to export from

7. Click Export and save the file down.

How do I export Invoicing Accounting Entries?

If you use a third-party accounting system, you can export your Invoicing accounting entries from the Tendenci system for outside use and reconciliation.

The export format was specifically designed for import into QuickBooks. Iif you are using QuickBooks, the import process will be very smooth.

If you are using a different accounting package, the data may require some manipulation prior to import. Please check with your software vendor before importing to ensure the integrity of data.

How Do I Add Or Remove Someone From My Site Constants?

Within Tendenci, there are various recipient lists that define who gets notified about what.

For example "sitecontactrecipients" defines the email addresses that would recieve copies of contact forms on the site.

To edit Site Constants, you must be a Site Administrator.

From the Tendenci console, choose Manage Users from the admin quick links section.
Choose H) 1. Add/Search Site Constants.
Click the Edit (pencil) icon next to the site constant you wish to edit.
Add or delete email addresses.
- Each email address should be separated by a comma.
- Email addresses must match Site Administrators in the system.
Click Update Site Constant.

How do I give my CMS page a better URL / display name?

Once you have created your CMS page following the instructions in How to add a page to your site using CMS, you may want to add a display page to the page. Tendenci software automatically creates Meta information for every page of your site. However, to better optimize your site for search engines you may want to customize the information yourself. To edit a pages Meta Information (This only allows you to make changes to CMS pages, this icon does not appear on non CMS pages ex. Articles): Go to that particular page on your site. To create hyperlinked text that conveniently makes a new message window with the recipients email address and subject line filled in already.

First you must highlight the text you want to hyperlink.
Select the hyperlink icon in your WYSIWYG
Enter into the URL field the email address where you want the email sent to plus ?subject=Mail from Our Site. It will look like: yourname@yourdomain.com?subject=Mail from Our Site
Select mailto: for your hyperlink type
Click OK
Submit your CMS page when you have completed the rest of your content.

Now whenever someone clicks the link the email generated will look something like this

How can I delete a corporate membership as an admin?

You can delete your corporate membership but there are 2 steps to do so.

First you will need to delete the corporate membership entry itself. Here's how.

You will need to go to the Tendenci home page on your website (ex: http:/yourwebsite.com/en and browse to the icon for Corporate Memberships section and click on it.
Then from the corporate memberships screen hit Search for Corporate Memberships.
From the search screen enter the Corporate Membership you would like to delete.
Once you locate the Corporate Membership you would like to delete, hit the trash can () icon to delete. This data is not recoverable.
Confirm you would like to delete the Corporate Membership.

You are not done. You will need to now delete the entity that was created when the Corporate Membership. Here's how to delete the entity::

Click on the Tendenci tab located at the top of the delete confirmation page. This will take you back to the Tendenci console.
On the far right hand side under Admin Quick Links choose entities search.
Search for the Entity name you would like to delete. This would be the same name as the Corporate Membership you deleted above.
Then click the trash can icon () to delete this entity. CAUTION. This will delete all users associated with this entity.

Now your corporate entity will be completely deleted.

How do I add a Forum to my website?

Forums are a great way to involve members of your online community in a dialogue.

As an Admin you will need to create a Forum topic:

From the Tendenci console select the Forums link, this is located the list that says Other Tendenci modules below the icons.
You will see the list of forums you currently have, at the top there is a hyperlink to Add - click this.
Fill out the fields for your Forum, including:
Name - title of this particular Forum
Description - Explanation of the topic.
Usergroup - If you are restricting this Forum to a usergroup you would select this here.
Moderator Username - This should be the contact who is overseeing the Forum
The Allow checkboxes below specifiy who can look at the forum and topic comment that go with the Forum. Unchecking these Allow view boxes will disallow certain site visitors from viewing the Forum and its topics.
Finally hit Submit the Forum.
