Adding other site RSS feeds to my site

If there are some great sources of information that you feel your visitors would gain great value from, subscribe to their RSS feed through Tendenci and publish it on your site!

You must be an administrator to create a page with RSS feeds.
  1. Find the site's RSS feed.  Sometimes it maybe a link that says "Subscribe to this RSS feed" - Or you may see the following standard RSS symbol:


    (It may not be that big, but it should stand out)

    Or it could very well look like one of the older RSS symbols if they haven't changed their symbol to the standard:


  2. When you click on the button get to the feed URL, it will look like a whole lot of meaningless code or text:



    That's okay.  Don't worry about it - just copy that URL in the address bar.

    OR if the blog is registered with FeedBurner, the button may take you to a FeedBurner page that looks similar to the blog itself, with a FeedBurner URL: 

    http://feeds.feedburner.com/example
    That's okay - copy that URL!

  3.  Go to the Tendenci screen of your site.  Beneath the section" Other Tendenci Modules on the  right column click on "RSS Pages"


  4. In the top Tendenci menu, click on "Add."

  5. Enter a page title, description if you'd like, and paste your feed URL into the "Feed 1 URL" field.

  6. Add a feed title above (Feed 1 Title) so your users know what they're looking at.

  7. Set the limit to however many posts from that source you want shown at a time (5 is usually a good, safe number)

  8. Click on the "Add Page Content" button at the bottom, and you've created a CMS page with RSS feeds on it!

  9. You can add up to 3 different feeds on one page.

  10. If you have an editable navigation, link your new resources from your navigation!  Or from another CMS page.
