Adding tags to articles
Tags are descriptive word(s) that users label online content with to organize items of interest and share their findings with the online world.
Tendenci automatically tags your content for you when you use the Category and Sub-Category dropdown boxes. If you don't see the categories you want in the dropdown box, simply type in your own in the blank text boxes below. Your new categories will be saved when you save your content.Further tagging of your online content can increase your chances of your content being found by searchers via sites like Technorati (www.technorati.com).
This is a great way of potentially picking up new visitors, as Technorati tags are sorted differently than in search engines. With Technorati, humans rate and label your content, instead of letting search engine spiders decide how to categorize and position your content.
Here are the easy steps to adding Technorati tags to your articles in Tendenci:
- At the bottom of your article body, type in the words 'Technorati tags:'
- In a new web browser window or tab, go to the Technorati site: www.technorati.com/tags
- Type a tag or keyword that you want to use to describe your article and click 'Go to tag'

- On the following page, look to the left sidebar and click on the 'this code' link for the tag code to appear in a box below. Click in this code box and copy the code.

- Return to your Tendenci article page and view your article body in HTML view by clicking the 'HTML' button at the bottom of the Body editor.
- In the source code view, scroll to the bottom of your article body and paste in the Technorati code next to the 'Technorati tags:' text you entered earlier.

- Repeat Steps 3-6 until you have added all of the tags you would like.
- Save your document and view your tagging work!
