Posting information about upcoming events without specifying the event date and time

If you are in the planning stage of an event and don't have a time and date set but you want to inform your members, you can do this a few different ways.

1. Add a title and a blurb about the upcoming event to your homepage. Site visitors love new content so keep it updated and give them a reason to keep checking back.

Ex: Join Our Charity Golf Tournament this June!

Summer is right around the corner so start practicing your golf swing now! We will be co-sponsoring a charity golf tournament along with Tendenci this June. All of the proceeds from the tournament go straight to the (instert charity here). Get a team together and swing for a good cause. Time, date and fabulous location are still being set so please check back often!

2. Send out a press release to your members now and later.

Ex: Send a press release to your members announcing the event (similar to the information listed in item #1). Send a follow up press release to your members once the event details have been fully set and the event has been added to your calendar. Don't forget to include a link directly to the event and registration information. See our help file: How do I send a press release?

3. Link To Your Event. Once your event has been set, add this information to your calender and link users to this event from the blurb on the homepage and from your press release. See our help file:  How do I link text?
