Subsidy Pricing and how to use it
Subsidy pricing options are found in the calendar events module. Some organizations use this to allow unemployed members to request a discount from the event planner. *We recommend that you do *not* use subsidy pricing as it may be removed in a future release of Tendenci.*
It does *not* automatically lower the price, it sends a notification e-mail to the site calendar contacts and the event planner stating the registrant would like subsidy. It is up to the event planner or the administrator to do a price adjustment based on your specific policies.
The dollar amount and the text displayed for the subsidy option are set in your siteXML variables. The variable names are CalendareventsSubsidyPrice and CalendareventsSubsidyRegistrationText.
The "subsidy" option can be turned on or off by editing the pricing page of the event.
To adjust the price and allow subsidy pricing for the registrant, a site admin will need to edit the registrants registration. To do this you go to the event and click on the link to view attendees.
From the attendees list, click the number listed next to the registrants name. Next you will click the link that says edit registration details. Adjust the price and hit submit to update the registration.
