WYSIWYG Icons

Here's a quick rundown of the different WYSIWYG Editor icons.


To view an icon name on your screen, roll your mouse over the icon and wait a second for the mouseover text to appear. (You must actually be in Edit mode on a page to see the rollovers.)

Source -- toggles between HTML source code and the WYSIWYG view
Preview -- shows full document in WYSIWYG format but does not apply style sheet formatting
Templates -- applies a set of formatting to a blank page. Use this before adding content as it replaces all page content with the template coding. This is an easy wasy to add a video or audio file to your page.
Cut, copy and paste
Paste as plain text -- pastes copied text from another location and strips all formatting codes. This is the cleanest way to add new content to your site.
Paste from Word -- pastes copied text from another location and retains many of the formatting codes such as font type, size and color and some paragraph formatting. This will give you pre-formatted text, however can be difficult to manipulate to match your existing site look and feel.
Spell Check -- make sure your copy is looking as professional as possible with proper spelling - read through this help file for more information
Undo/Redo -- rolls back/adds back latest keystrokes

Find / Replace -- search for specific text / replace with alternate text

Select All -- selects all text on the page
Remove Format -- clean up formatting issues
Insert/Edit Link -- adds or edits hyperlink information for selected text or graphics. You can add links to other sites, other pages, other locations on this page or to a specific email account.
Remove Link -- removes hyperlink information from selected text or graphics
Insert/Edit Anchor -- adds an anchor tag at a specific spot on the page. Anchors tags are placed throughout the page and then hyperlinks are added to jump to the various anchors.
 
ICON ROW #2
Bold/Italics/Underline/Strike through --much like editing a Word document, these basic text editing tools let you bold, italicize, underline and strike through your text.
Subscript/Superscript - Add subscripts and superscripts to your text
Numbered List -- toggles numbered lists on and off.
Bulleted List -- toggles bulleted lists on and off
Decrease/Increase Indent -- applies to entire paragraph
Block quote - format highlighted text to take a block quote format
Left/Center/Right/Full Justify -- applies to entire paragraph
Insert/Edit Image -- adds an image to the page by linking to an image that has been uploaded to the web server. Add alt tags to your images for better SEM. Add space buffers around the image to improve readability of text.
Insert Flash -- adds a Flash element to the page by linking to the uploaded flash file. Use the Advanced tab to determine if the file plays once or in a continuous loop.
Insert/Edit Table -- adds a table to the page. This is a great way to control page formatting and line up images with the appropriate text. Set the table width to 100% for the greatest flexibility.
Insert Horizontal Line -- include a horizontal line to separate content

Text Styles -- select specified text styles from dropdown list
Format -- applies font face, color and size to the selected text based on the style sheet associated with your site. Use heading tags (H1, H2, etc.) to format your page titles and subtitles to increase SEM.
Font -- applies chosen font face to selected text. Use with caution to avoid clashes with defined site styles.
Size -- applies chosen font size to selected text. Use this option when the text you are modifying will not be used for SEM purposes.
Text Color/Background Color Styles -- colors the selected text or background of selected text to chosen color
See Blocks -- view the block elements of your content
Maximize -- expand your editing screen for ease of content adding and editing
