The purpose of the Commercial Spaceflight Panel to allow the Houston community to get a better understanding of the suborbital market and opportunities. The SpaceUp Houston audience is comprised not only of engineers and scientists who work at the Johnson Space Center but also those with a vested interest in the Houston community and the future of human spaceflight. The August timeframe for this event is aptly timed to the ending of the shuttle program and the massive layoffs that are occurring in this area.
